SAPRI - Sexual Abuse Prevention & Response

The Viva Foundation developed a programme SAPRI - Sexual Abuse Prevention and Response Initiative that is aimed community-based prevention and response to all forms of gender-based and sexual violence, including domestic violence. 

Awareness, advocacy and training are the main focuses of the programme. 

Community-based response training was developed with a strong prevention focus. Training modules are: 

1. The Rape Response Protocol - from Incident to Guilty Verdict

2. Court Procedures - assisting a survivor through the legal process to ensure justice

3. Rape Specific First Aid 

4. Counselling a Rape Victim 

5. The Rights of a Victim

6. SAPRI Community-based Prevention & Response
