Sexual Violence Prevention & Response

Sexual Violence is one of the main societal challenges faced in South Africa. 

Close to four thousand women and girls are killed per year, the majority by people who are in a close relationship with them.  Domestic violence, rape and every form of sexual crimes are perpetrated against women and children and men.  

The SAPRI programme [SAPRI = Sexual Abuse Prevention and Response Initiative] was developed by the Viva Foundation and became a focus area of the organisations operations. 

Awareness, Advocacy, Training, Practical Community Prevention Strategies and campaigns are carried out.
